Drama | War

Rated R violence, some disturbing images, and language

1hr59min

Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes brings his singular vision to this World War I epic, which won three Academy Awards. At the height of the war — April 6, 1917 — two young British soldiers, Schofield and Blake, are given a seemingly impossible mission. In a race against time, they must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers — Blake's own brother among them.

The film won the Best Cinematography, Visual Effects and Sound Mixing Oscars, and was nominated for Best Picture and six other Academy Awards.
